I think this movie...

...planted a seed in my brain as a 17 year old. I remember back in 2000 when I watched this in a extra curricular class on film studies in high school (Swedish - gymnasiet). I think as I watched that scene when the group get the "come ups" correlating with the music build up, I got curious about that euphoria they described. I was already into house and trance music but never tried E or any drugs with the music as they did in Human Traffic.

Fast forward 6 years, I'm in Brisbane, Australia, studying abroad, started to work in a nightclub called Family on the weekends, meet new people. I started going out with the workmates on Thursdays which was our weekend instead. My first night with them I got to try E. I hesitated at first but after a couple of drinks, I took a risk... and it was great, even had a second one a few hours later.

Now when I watch Human Traffic, I get exactly what they mean.

And besides the drug experience, now that I'm a older, I totally understand John Simm's Jip main trouble in the story about your mind fracking with you and not able to get it up, having experience that myself. :D

It's like looking in a mirror, only not.
