This movie supposedly after 1985 Godzilla

how did Godzilla come back was he summoned because he fell into a volcano
was he brought back by his dna???

reply

Regenerator G-1 kicked in and he climbed out? That's just in theory, really this movie ignores all previous films except for the original. So in this movie technically Godzilla 1985 never even happened.

but besides the ending it was a great movie oh
he climbed out, yea...must have climbed out quickly...
thats good he didnt die then

'Godzilla' 1985 never died in the volcano, as he was impervious to the heat.
He returned for G. vs Biollante and continued with the 'Heisei' movies until he melted in Destroyah.

Then there was the 1998 Tri-star bust, but I won't get into that.

Toho revived the Godzilla series with 'Godzilla 2000' but the idea behind it was to give him a new start. This Godzilla was never supposed to connect to any other prior film.

What was a shame, was that G. vs. Megaguirus should've been a sequel to G2000, but they decided to AGAIN make another stand alone film... which is what all the Millennium films pretty much were - just stand alone films. (with the exception of the two Mechagodzilla films)

Some believe this is Godzilla Junior from the last film, but I still say Regenerator G-1.

That's what I think since this Godzilla is green and a little hunched over.

Just for the record regarding some comments in this thread, someone posted that in the universe where the events of Godzilla 2000 takes place, Godzilla 1985 never happened. This is true. Godzilla 2000 never acknowledges any previous movies or events so it's impossible to know for sure, but there seems to be no reason for them to include Godzilla 1985 or any other films (aside from the original) in this movie's universe.

Godzilla 2000 does NOT have Junior from the Heisei series, either. Toho has stated before that none of the Millennium films are connected to prior Godzilla movies EXCEPT the 1954 original. Godzilla 2000 was a reboot, plain and simple. It's not Junior.

^Terrible decision on TOHOS part.

That's the great thing about being a Godzilla fan. We can choose to believe how we want to believe, even if it is different from what Toho says. To many, it makes perfect sense to say this Godzilla is Godzilla Junior

According to the article in Wikipedia this is a reboot of the Godzilla Franchise. It ignores all but the 1954 original and follows after it. Toho made some very good Godzilla movies and I do wish they would quit rebooting it, ignoring these movies that were good such as Godzilla 1985, which itself was also a reboot. This movie should have followed Godzilla vs. Destroyer(Destroyah) due to the scenes where Godzilla is very near humans but doesn't harm them. These scenes had me believing that this Godzilla was Godzilla Junior.
