Why didn't Christopher fight back against the primitive farmer? SPOILER

None of the attrocities before this bothered me more than the climax, were the farmer easily overpowered Christopher (who beforehand, seemed to be proficient at fisticuffs) and then proceeded to demasculate him.

Was it because the farmer wasn't affraid of Christopher? (unlike the other islanders) because Christopher just froze up and let the farmer attack him.

Also, why could Christopher not crawl out of the lime pit, he was only burried up to his waist?
Were his legs or back broken, or something?

I know it's probably a fruitless task, in trying find reasoning and logic from a movie like this.....but the last ten minutes of this movie, is (to me) the most disturbing?

I agree with you, those 2 questions are legit indeed.

About the first question, why he did not fight back? I think maybe simply the primitive farmer was much stronger, but still, you are right, he did not even try to hit back, weird.

Also he looked like he could get out of the lime pit, but even if he couldn't, he didn't even try. that was weird too..

In general its a very disturbing movie, which means its a damn good movie.
