Hockey Night In Canada gone after '08?

Im from Michigan and have been watching HNIC since I was 7 or 8 and I just heard today about how TSN/CTV is trying to buy the rights to HNIC in a couple years after CBCs contract expires. Is there an outrage about this in Canada or any petitions going around encouraging CBC to continue their coverage?

I know it dosent mean as much to Canadians besides losing the CBC tradition theyll still be able to see a double header every Saturday night but us few American hockey fans rely on this because otherwise we have Versus, which is a station most people dont even get and has god awful amature like coverage.
For me this is a part of my childhood and my life.

PLEASE KEEP HNIC ON CBC!!!!!

They've just signed a contract keeping HNIC on the CBC until 2011. I would hate for it to ever be on another channel.

Actually, the deal that was signed keeps Hockey Night in Canada on CBC until 2014. Here's the link:

By far, Don Cherry and Ron McLean are the best part of HNIC and I hope they stay on for years to come. Hockey on any other channel just isn't the same. What's the first intermission without Coach's Corner?

Even better!

Maybe it was when TSN bought the HNIC theme you had heard at the time.

"Why do people visit boards of movies they dislike to complain? Absolutely nothing else to do!"
