purugu anyone?

i have been looking for this movie about a bullied boy who found a friend in a butterfly/moth. it's a 90s drama movie i think. the boy got it while his father(?) was about to throw what was then a cocoon/larva. i can barely remember the title but the name purugu(or sounds like) stuck with me since then. can't seem to find it. ='( help pls??!!
