What year were the dialogue tracks recorded in

Does anyone know which year were the dialogue tracks for this film recorded in? It had to have been sometime before 1999, that's the only thing I know. Exactly which year, I don't know.

Well, the first previews for the film were included in "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride" original VHS release in the Fall of 1998. It was then advertised for a direct-to-video release (then titled "The First Doug Movie Ever!"). My guess is because of the success of "The Rugrats Movie" for Paramount, Disney thought the film could do well enough as a theatrical release to please the fan-base of the original show that aired on Nickelodeon. Of course, the film didn't do as well as expected, but to answer your question I think they had to have been recorded sometime during late 1997 to early 1998 as animated films record the voices before any animation is worked out. Hope that answers your question...
