3/10. Here's why:

What made DOUG a TV classic was that it was about the daily life of a regular pre-teen. He had a wild imagination and he would often come up with fantastical versions of the events he was living. After waking up, he'd manage to solve his problems the way people do in real life. DOUG'S 1ST MOVIE ruins all of that by having a monster in the story. If they wanted to give the title character an adventure, they could've done it without things that are illogical to his universe's rules. It also makes his fantasies pointless. Why would one day-dream when they're living something that's so out-of-this-world? Even if I managed to get past that, it wouldn't make this E.T. rip-off funny.
