I cannot believe that there is no dvd/vhs source for this great little series. I ordered it from MarketSales.COM (under the Amazon link) and received Anne of Green Gables, the Sequel (the series with Megan Follows). Does anyone know where I can find the Kim Braden Version?
According to tickledorange.com, (an L. M. Montgomery fan site), the original movie, 'Anne of Green Gables', "is one of the few BBC 1 Sunday Serials which is missing and no longer exists in the BBC archives."
Obviously the sequel 'Anne of Avonlea' is still intact, since it is going to be released later this year. But as for the "missing" 'Anne of Green Gables', I sure hope it is not permanently gone and lost forever. There aren't many details available on this, so it's hard to know what to think. Maybe it will eventually show up somewhere....hopefully.
Yes! I hope it will be available to the U.S. market. I know some DVDs created for the UK market won't play here. Doesn't matter, I buy it anyway and figure it out with technology. Thanks.
Fortunately, my DVD player is universal so I have pre-ordered from Amazon. Not long to wait now. I'm intensely curious and will post a review when I've watched it.
