My favourite underated moment.

Mike: Hello Timmy!
Tim: Where are you?
Mike: Errr Sheffield.
Tim: What are you doing in Sheffield?
Mike:Fell asleep on the tube.
Tim: The tube doesn't go to Sheffield Mike.
Mike: Yeah, I know. I um must have changed at King's Cross.
Tim: Alright well don't fall asleep on the way back ok?
Mike: (snoring)

This moment had me in stitches and i really don't under stand why. I think its just the pure reaction of the two characters, and Mikes complete obliviousness to his situation x).

Have to watch:
Rango
Source Code
Sucker Punch

That made me literally LOL, when watching it and just reading that.
I love Bill Bailey's (Bilbo) expressions.

D: I feel for Amber.
*rage scene*
T: I feel for Amber. Hmmmhmmm.
*britney spears montage*

Rewatching it now, but one of my favorite bits in the show is when Tim is asking Brian if he'd like to come to the house warming party. The timing is hilarious....

Tim: There will be girls
Brian: Really?
Tim:Yeah
Brian: mmmmmmmm

Just how the lines a said so quickly one after the other and the way Brian says "Mmmmmm" cracks me up everytime I play that bit LOL

reply

one of my many favs in this show is when Tim is explaining how the single gun fighter in Star Wars was the pivotal character.

And when Tim calls Mike "babe" as in SOTD

reply

might be a little off but i remmeber this one:

"the first rule of robot wars is you don’t talk about robot wars!"

"the second rule of robot wars is YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT ROBOT WARS!"

"no wait, that cant be right….ah here we go, its actually no smoking"

The Dude Abides

reply

I like the one were Tim said that Mike wasn't doing the job he wanted, and it showed Mike dressed as a crossing guard, screaming at kids to get them across the road.

reply

Not only that -- he's waving a gun! LOL!

reply

Thought this was stale and predictable. Much prefer the next bit, something like...

Tim: Why aren't we allowed to smoke?
Mike: Shhh, We're not supposed to talk about it.

reply

"Hot dog, jumping frog, almond cookies."

Love Daisy getting excited about her disaster of a party.

"I see it as a tribute to Christo the artist."

"I see it as a waste of Baco the foil."

love this!

reply

"Why can't we smoke?"

"We're not supposed to talk about it."

You really have to admire the editing. It's not just about the lines, it's the timed cuts that really sell the comedy a lot of times. Just think about the episode 1 scene where they meet Marsha for the first time. According to IMDb, the main editor, Chris Dickens, of the series went on to Hollywood fame, winning an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire. Spaced is one of his first credits.

What I really love about Spaced is its brevity. They knew they would only get a few episodes out, and that it might be the last thing they ever do if it goes awry. So they crammed every last bit they could think off into each episode. That's what makes the first season so special, and in my opinion superior to the second.

I actually had a friend ask me where Sheffield was on the Northern Line, once. He was a bit of an idiot, but it had me in stitches when I saw this scene because of that!

reply

'I'll take it to Tim AND Daisy's room'.

Cue slow motion swing of jacket over shoulder.

You make me laugh, if Matrix were here, he'd laugh too

reply

I recently watched the series and THIS scene literally made me laugh out loud.

reply

I love the Twist and Brian conversation:
Twist - " I want you to see me as a whole Brian.
Brian - "I do"
Twist "A whole Brian, with a W!

You Can't Drink A Pint Of Bovril..

reply

I'm not sure if it's underrated or not, but one of my favorite moments is when Brian invites Tim and Daisy to Vulva's art show. At first, Tim isn't interested, but as soon as free booze is brought up, he has his coat and hat on ready to walk out the door in an instance!

Season 2 - Episode 6

After the cake fight, the kid at the piano plays the beginning of that final song in "Bugsy Malone" (after the big pie fight). That movie isn't referenced enough.

reply

Haha, the manager or waiter (whoever he is) looks at the piano player and motions across his throat (like a "cut the music" sort of thing). Cracks me up because he's acknowledging that the fight only happened because of the music that was playing.

I also love right after that when he says something like:
Manager: Ok, you have two options, you can either clean this mess up or we can call the police.
Daisy: Who wants to clean it up? *Daisy, Brian, Twist, Marsha all raise their hands* And who wants to call the police? *Tim and Mike raise their hands*

Haha, like Tim and Mike are so lazy they would rather be arrested than have to clean up the mess.

Anyway, this cake is great. It's so delicious and moist.

reply

Hmm, I actually read the clean up/police thing differently. I viewed that as Mike and Tim being somewhat defiant. The way you put it is funnier though.

Hm, it's one of my favorite episodes anyway, I might just have to watch it again....:)

reply

Lazy AND defiant. How about that? That was a great scene though- especially the beginning where daisy makes het entrance. So hilarious!!!

reply

In episode 1, when Daisy leaves her drug den for the new flat. That moment cracked me up so good.

Also when they explain how long they've been together for the first time to the landlady and then head smash each other.

reply

"dont forget to wash your sheets. and your penis."

reply

What do you paint?

Pain...anger....fear.....aggression.

Watercolors?

I absolutely love every time Marsha says, "'Ello Briiian" - the way she draws out his name is sexy in a creepy kind of way. Marsha was awesome.

Life is a journey, not a destination. Death is not a result, it's a solution

Series 1 episode 2

(Tim knocks on Brian's door)
Brian: Who is it?
Tim: Father Christmas.

The look on Brians face is so funny!
