Wolf 359?

Is anybody else listening to this podcast? I've been following the episodes for the past few weeks and it's been reminding me A LOT of Farscape, especially the main character.

It's about four people (well, three people and an AI-robot-thing) that are stuck on a space station in deep space, and the weird adventures they have while they're there. It's a lot of... kind of wacky spacefaring with a bit of loving satire of the genre. And the main character deals with everything by way of weird pop culture references. I think that he's kind of what Crichton would be like if he was a lot more cowardly and a lot less moral, haha.

It's all available for free on iTunes. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/wolf-359/id909552816?mt=2 Mostly I just want another Farscape fan to listen to this just to see if I'm crazy for being reminded so much of Farscape from this radio show, lol.

Is this related to Star Trek's Battle of Wolf 359, or just named after the star?

The description on their page makes it seem a lot like Red Dwarf, with working class joes lost in space and a nutty computer system. However, your description of three people and an AI-robot-thing immediately made me think of Lexx, a show that was kind of like Farscape if it was ten times more bizarre, perverted, campy, and Canadian. It's an acquired taste, but it's pretty damn awesome.

And all these shows I mentioned are sort of drawn from the well of Douglas Adams and Blake's 7, so you should check those out too, if you haven't.

High fives and corporate anthems, nothing comes to mind.

As far as I can tell it's just based on the star itself, no Star Trek connections. And thanks, I actually haven't seen Red Dwarf or Lexx, so I shall have to check them out! :)
