Does Col. Tavington deserve to be amongst the greatest movie villains?

I think so, Jason Isaacs was awesome in the role.

He really was fantastic. Chillingly good performance.

He really channelled his Tavington for his role as The Inquisitor in Star Wars Rebels. Basically Tavington with a light saber lol

reply

He's bad ass even when his character isn't necessarily a villain. In Armageddon when his character calmly says to General Kimsey 'the presidents advisers are wrong...I'm right' his face is saying 'you got that you sorry son of a bitch?'.

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time Del Boy, it's them that started me drinking!

reply

Hell yes. The performance was deliciously evil.

reply

He's dastardly enough.

reply

YES. I reckon one of the greatest villains ever period. Upon first viewing its just someone that you absolutely HATE from start to finish, only after multiple viewings of this film do you really start to appreciate the downright perfect performance and the character himself. Hes evil.

reply

I think he and Capt. Simcoe from Turn would be great buds.

Col. Tavington DEFINITELY deserves to be labeled as such.

While we're on this subject, if I had control over the script, the Patriots/Americans would have captured Tavington and publicly executed him via an extremely brutal manner, such as stoning to death.

reply

Col. Tarlenton (his real name) did not die at war.

reply

Yes. Jason Isaacs was brilliant in this movie.
