Somebody else steals Eleanor, no dilemma

I like this movie a lot, but that's the main thing that bothered me about it. Knowing that you only have one night to steal 50 cars or your brother will get killed, why would you go after a car that you were never able to steal in the past? Even if this "bad karma" is just prejudice and/or these guys find this an especially interesting challenge, if I would be Memphis, I'd leave trying to get Eleanor for another time and just let anybody else from the bunch steal her while I would take something innocent like that jeep.

I see it as Memphis' personal conquest. Yes he's had trouble boosting it in the past but what kind of a car thief would he be if he delegated Eleanor to someone else on the team? He's regarded as one of the the best boosters in L.A. I agree with you though. With so much at stake why risk it? Pride get's in the way of this one.

reply

Nah, he thrives on the pressure of the challenge presented by Eleanor.🐭

Because a chase scene involving a jeep is a lot shorter than one involving a nitro'd pony?
