Rat

Anyone else in here find the rat scene in this film one of the, if not the most, disturbing death scene in horror movie history? Sure, the film is extremely cheesey, which I think adds to it's appeal, but that scene REALLY got me. This film should be better known, if just for that scene alone.

I remember it. That was supergross. Haven't seen anything like that in all the other horror flix I've had the pleasure of seeing. :)

Think I'll watch that one tonight...

Hey sf!
I saw this film about 20 years ago - back then, I used to rent a lot of videos and so, it's easy to see that I had gotten this one mixed up w/ 2 others that stood out for me then: Dear Dead Delilah and Diary of the Dead.
I thought Delilah was the one w/ the-rat-in-the-bucket-chews-thru-woman-scene, but I was wrong!! It's Epitaph! So, how do 'we' get a copy of this, I am sure it hasvn't been re-released on DVD, has it?! Do you just have a VHS copy of it? I should check ebay....anyway, cool film, I need to see it again after 20 years!
haha -;)

Another one from that era:
Mountaintop Motel Massacre!!!!!

Troy:
Yes it WAS sick and shocking at that time! Now, with films like SAW and HOSTEL, it seems tame! Anyway, if you run across a copy of it (like a DV-r) let me know! I need to see this one again! ^ (See other post) >
Thanks!

this movie was in one of the toxie's triple terror sets that troma released. i'm not quite sure which one, though. it's also in the toxie's blood bank set, which was recently released. it costs about $50 in the stores, but it's a 10 movie pack.

edit: i should mention, in all of the troma releases, the movie is called mommy's epitaph

Hey, thanks, shadow - I like the Multi-disc deals that are put out by Mill Creek Entertainment, they have the ones of Drive Ins w/ 50 movies on 12 discs for $18.99. I also came across a Cult DVD pack with 20 old b&w cheesie films for only $6.00, so the deals are out there!
So, you say 'Troma', the ones who did Tromeo & Juiet, have a production Co. that has the rights to release Epitaph? I'd like to check their site, if you have a link or maybe amazon has a used copy cheap...

sure. the dvd section of troma's online store can be found at https://buy.tromamovies.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=DVD you'd want to search for mommy's epitaph, because that's the title it was released under by troma. i don't believe it was ever released as an individual disc, but it's on the toxie's blood bank 10 disc collection, which i have seen on ebay and amazon for a lot less than in stores (it retails at $50). last i saw both sites had it going for around $19, and there were one or two auctions of it on ebay as well.

So, this Toxie's Blood Bank 10 disc thing, does it have a ton of killer stuff on it? Ok, I'm hitting the link to find out - do you own this one too?
I also have a 20 Movie pack on 4 discs called 'Vampires & More' with some pretty cheesy ones, as well as some lost ones like Oasis of the Zombies, Horror of the Zombies, Mama Dracula, The Werewolf vs Vampire Women and Crypt of the Living Dead! I think I scored a good one there. ;)

it's got ten different movies on it. they're all ones that troma acquired the rights to release, but not ones that they made. i haven't finished watching the whole set yet, but from the movies i've seen some are good, and others are just eh. i wouldn't recommend it at full price, but if you can get it for around $20 or so i'd say it's worth it.

I think this scene disturbed me more than any other scene of any other film I've ever seen! I had nightmares for weeks! Ewwwwww...
