This Movie Is so so Underrated!

I absolutely adored this movie. its speaks the truth.

I'm sorry I don't agree on 99% of you guys on this, but all movies are up for interpertation.
So, yea, give it a chance :)

Totally agree with you, this movie is awesome. People just have to relate to like it. Some people don't relate so they dump on the movie. It shows first love and heartache and also hope, it's perfect but that's just my opinion.

I too adore this movie. I love how true it is and how it was happy go lucky the whole time. I also like the actor's and wish they would be in more movies these days.

I agree!

This was a movie I didn't want to like---and the kind of movie a guy shouldn't admit to seeing unless he got something in exchange---but I couldn't help it.

This is a very, very sweet story.

I saw this years ago without looking it up here, and was shocked to see how much it is hated.

Underrated?

That's hardly the word, people are hating this movie with a feverish intensity!

The preponderance of negative comments on the story, writing, acting, directing, lighting, craft services, bond completion, etc. must mean something, so I guess those things aren't all that great all the way around, but I somehow feel that this movie REALLY conveys the indescribable emotions that people feel at such times. It isn't beyond my imagination to think that some of the critics haven't ever had these things happen in their lives, at least not in that way and at that age.

Besides, it has Henry Winkler, and if you don't like Henry Winkler, you're dead.

P.S. I just noticed that the comments here mostly span from 2004-2010, but the people really turned on this film over time. The first few years of comments are largely positive, and the most recent ones are purely hate mail. It is possible that the original viewers/posters were big fans of Prinze/Stiles and the latest wave of viewers are just random people who caught it on TV and hated it.

Yes, I loved it too. Just finished watching it and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. This film was way more original and entertaining than I'd had thought beforehand. Nice one! :) I'll surely watch it again sometime.
