disappointing

After I enjoyed the book by Minette Walters I rented this from Amazon hoping to see a worthwhile adaptation but I was sorely disappointed and ended up turning it off halfway through the first episode. Wooden, unconvincing acting from most and indulgent over-acting by key characters coupled with poor script writing made it difficult to engage with the story or empathize with any character. Give it a miss if it's ever repeated on UK Drama (can't really see the BBC dusting it off for a repeat).
