The plot

The movie told the story well, But am I the only one who feels just how do you love someone long term when your children learn just what really happened to there father and just how he lied to her at the beginning of courting there mother. I thought they were very good with each other but found making a life with this person knowing what transpired would catch up to anyone in a relationship where her husband died at the hands of the boyfriend or the second husband. Grave site visitations, married name changes, family gatherings etc. will do nothing but rehash old wounds, interesting especially if she really loved her husband.

Died at the hands? He was doing a favor for that guy, he didn't know the plane would crash.

It wasn't Buddy's fault her husband died.

reply

Seriously, she should move on to someone not connected, the guy will always be connected to his death. It's not worth it.

reply

He wasn't 'connected to his death' at all, other than that he was a kind soul that day who gave his first class ticket to a guy he had just met. The problem with your line of thinking is implying there is some error in what he did. He is just as much a victim of the airline crash as anybody else. He just has a different kind of burden as a survivor.

reply

Yes he gave the ticket to him and he died from it, how is he not connected. He lives her husband died. When she looks at him she might see if only it was reversed. It's only natural. And the kids will wish the same.

reply

Thats just ridiculous. 99% of people dont think like that. His act was that really of altruism. Because the plane crashed it doesnt change his motivation. Nobody knows a one in a million event is going to happen. He didnt cause the crash or know what was going to happen. And Im sure the wife and the kids realize that just fine, as would I.

reply

Actually I understand he didn't know what would happen and she shouldn't blame him. But it still doesn't negate he is dead and you are hear. That is a reality. We will see this differently no matter what is said. Thanks for replying.
