Suprisingly Good Movie

Though the premise of an earthquake hitting Manhattan is a little out there, I really enjoyed this movie. It took me back to the 70's disaster films like THE TOWERING INFERNO, EARTHQUAKE,and METEOR. It featured good performances from Jennifer Garner, Kim Delaney, and Charles S. Dutton.

I agree that it was surprisingly good.

You see, we have it on DVD, and when I saw about the first five minutes of it, I ran off, bored.

But, I'm not one to stay away from movies like this for very long. Besides Star Wars, Cars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Spiderman, and Monsters Inc, I am a little known fan of Terminator 3, The Day After Tomorrow, Omega Man, 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, and The Left Behind, not to mention a fan of many books, including The Rift, Triumph, Escape Plus, Quake, Twister on Tuesday, and many more. I'm a fan of natural disaster movies, end of the world books and movies, a sucker for movies that scare me half to death and make me paranoid of even the tiniest lizard.

So, the second time I watched it, I watched the whole thing. Seeing another natural disaster movie, I added this one to my list of all time favorite disaster movies.

And seeing as I've gone to New York now, it makes it even more interesting to me.

Don't get me wrong I loved this movie but LowRider was definitely the best part. What I love is that his name is the first thing that Sharon's character yells when the Quake hits. She doesn't even care about her kid at first LOL.

I also enjoyed this movie. I was expecting a bad flick, but was thoroughly enthralled, especially considering that it was made for TV.
