Twister-Ride it Out is a spectacular special effects show that brings you into the drive-in scene from the hit movie Twister!
Universal Studios Florida has once again brought us an attraction that is so amazing that it will stick in your memory and make you want to tell everyone you meet about it!
Twister-Ride it Out is one of my most favorite USF attractions ever! I totally love it! I had a blast during the whole thing! It is so very awesome! My first go with it was last year. I love the movie and quickly got in line to see exactly what it was. Waiting in line was cool because I got to see the movie vehicles and learn stuff about tornados. It was exciting heading into the building and getting to watch a spacial making of the movie video. You really find out a lot of stuff, including exactly how much the actors got banged up making this movie. When you head through the next door, it's like you're in Aunt Meg's house after the tornado hit it. It really felt like the place was going to come crashing down on me! Everything from cars to trees were coming through the walls and ceiling. After waiting a bit, warning sirens start going off and you are let through doors to where the main event will take place. I walked in and I'm just like "Wow!" Right there before you is an amazing recreation of the drive-in scene, including everything from the snack stand to the marque to the movie screen playing the movie. There are platforms for everyone to walk on (it's a standing up attraction, which is just fine with me because it would be hard for me to stay in my seat for this one!). They close the doors behind you once everyone has got in and the lights go down, and then it begins!
As the movie is playing, the weather begins to get darker and stormy. It begins to rain on you as wind is blowing all around. Suddenly, as the lightning begins to flash, you see a tornado coming over the horizon right at you! Right as the lightning momentarily subsides, the movie screen is ripped right through and the marque is thrown through the air! Powerlines are being pulled out of their foundations and gas tanks get struck by lightning, resulting in a great fiery explosion! Suddenly, the tornado is right there in front of you, just feet away! The wind is howling at a deafening volume, which adds to the excitment! The ceiling above you is shaking and the lights are flashing and it feels like it will collapse right on you! As the tornado is wreaking havoc at the drive in, the powerful winds pick up a lot of stuff and fly them right in front of you, including a cow that is mooing out in distress. Then, when the audience is not expecting it, the floor suddenly drops, drawing a scream from everyone! The storm then subsides, and the audience begins to cheer wildly! It is truly one of the best! So, after that, I got in line right away again!
Twister-Ride it Out is a definite must-see for everyone who visits Universal Studios Florida! You will not be dissapointed by this one! It makes you feel like you are really in the movie. You will want to go on it again and again because it is such a fun and awesome attraction! The special effects are jaw-dropping eye-popping excitement! It will keep you screaming and cheering through the whole thing. Now go and see if you can ride out Twister-Ride it Out!
