Forgotten gem

I only just saw this film for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it immediately struck me as one of 'those' movies that are really quite good, but have been all but forgotten due to lack of B.O success and the like. Another vaguely similar flick I'd place in this category would be "Drop Dead Gorgeous."

I didn't expect this film to be half as funny as it was. Very sharp script and excellent performances all round.

Quite agree. Great looking gals, funny situation, just enough goofiness, makes for a fun film.

Both written by the same screenwriter actually. She used a pseudonym for s&s.

Ah, well that explains a lot! They're both excellent, slightly dark comedies.

Dark, funny, sexy, charming, fun and it's a huge favorite of mine.

MovieKid100's mom is a prostitute. One Direction sucks. You're Next failed. What else is new?

Yeah; this one's definitely underrated (currently at 5.3; I gave it a 7 but could have justified an 8 simply to balance out the lamos). From the comments I read calling it the worst movie ever, I'm guessing some folks just don't have the mental wiring to appreciate tongue-in-cheek camp like this. For those folks, hey, just shrug and move on. Plenty of other genres from which to choose.

Let's add it up:

* tight acting, editing, directing - 2 stars
* totally unpredictable - 1.5 stars
* laugh-out-loud goofiness on multiple occasions - 1.5 stars
* a bunch of cute chicks - 2 stars (heheh... Marla Sokoloff is worth 1 all by herself)

So there you go, 7/10 -- unless you don't like cute chicks, I suppose... in which case, what are you thinking watching a cheerleader movie?!?

I'm glad this movie is a hidden gem. I feel like it's a special gem and only a selection of people should feel blessed to either have this introduced to them, or they already know about it haha.

A bit of the old ultraviolence...
