Hasta Siempre, Comandante Che Guevara

reply

He's got it aaalll figured out, yep. Although, taking into account that he also thinks William Buroughs was a "moldy old fart" who "ruined literature"... One can only assume that he's not a 'big-picture' kind of guy.

Surely Che Guevara and politics are not the point of Wenders' wonderful film. The Cuban people and the music of the Buena Vista Social Club succeed in transcending the poverty in which they live, whatever the politics behind such a situation. The film is a paen to Cuba, not Cuban politics.

reply

There's very little about politics in this movie. It does show the poverty of Cuba, and I feel like they might have mentioned not being allowed to do some things, but it's mainly about the music of Cuba.

Excuse me...I can't find my head!
