Inspiring and mesmerizing

Watched this on a recommendation and am so glad I did. I is full of wonderful footage of Cuba and the people that reside in this land of poverty; who seem to have so much life and joy inside of them. Makes you wonder what is wrong with our country that they have far less and feel so much gratitude. The music is breathtaking and moves you from one place to another. I defy you to watch this in its entirety and not feel like moving out of your seat and dancing. You feel a part of the film and not a spectator. It's absolutely wonderful.

Richness is not about useless and fancy possessions but about dignity, brotherhood friendship and joy for life.

They only looks poor (by outside) but inside that people are (or were) some of the most rich persons in the entire world.

In the other hand look at people like Howard Hughes: he had everything and at the same time he was the poorest man on earth.

"Buenavista Social Club" is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. At the end of the movie you just wants to dance to smile, to be happy, just like the old musicians when they did what they loved the most: to bring happiness to everyone thru their art.

Indeed - Cuba an amazing place. I was in Havana for 2 weeks recently and just fascinated by the spirit of the people. They don't seem to measure happiness by the presence of a PS3.

Yes, I've just finished watching again for about the 5th time. Still emotionally grabs me with great music and stories about the people.

I saw it in the theatres soon after opening weekend and I just streamed the movie via Netflix. I'm thinking of buying the DVD so I don't have to keep renting it. Entertainment technology has changed since the movie first came out.

Like someone in the thread said, beautiful movie.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

Yes, very moving music and stories, even for this latino who never liked latin music (I'm more of a rock fan)
