Who's your favorite 'Punch-Out' fighter?

I'd have to go with King Hippo. I mean come on, look at him! Fat, band-aid target over his soft spot. Wears his crown between rounds. And, he talks some of the worst smack in the game. (And that's saying something)

'Do you like my new trunks? They are size XXX Large! Ha Ha Ha!'

"Use the Force, Fluke!"

reply

Bald Bull.

He's almost twice as big as King Hippo (really), well not in girth, maybe height.

I love those rolling punches he does, the way he bounces during his Bull Charge, and just his facial expressions. Just a funny guy. But most of the fighters are comical.

That laugh was also used in the game "Kung Fu" (The Magician boss), and in another game or two I believe.

I hate to go with the crowd, but it's really hard to hate Soda Popinski.

Honourable mentions to King Hippo, Super Machoman, and if characters from other games of the series count, Bear Hugger, Masked Muscle, and Hoy Quarlow.

King Hippo and Mad Clown. Man, I hope Mad Clown is on the New Punch Out Wii just like King Hippo is.

reply

It's Super Macho Man because of his awesome tan, roguish behavior, and sly witticisms:

"My body is just so totally cool!"

"I don't smoke...But tonight I'm gonna smoke you!"

reply

Tyson, but I don't count him since he's real.

Probably a three-way tie between Soda Popinski, Super Macho Man, and King Hippo.

I really miss the days when Nintendo was able to put such thought and creativity into their games like this.
