its a shame that this movie's dvd was not released comercially. what are they thinking?
the dvd is hard to find because no commercial release was ever made.i was lucky enough to get a copy of this movie because a friend of mine won it as a prize in a game show from the movie's tv producer.

The dvd of this movie was released in very limited numbers. I even e-mailed Regal Films, GMA Films' partner in this movie if there are plans to re-release a dvd of Jose Rizal. They said yes but it's been 5 years now.
So many crazy, bad quality, tasteless Philippine movies being released on DVD and VCD. Where have all the good movies gone? Where have all the "brained" ones gone? Well, so few are good Philippine movies. The best movies could be those black-and-white, old movies.
I bought the DVD from a store in Podium last Christmas, so I guess they finally got arround to releasing it.

I hope that you're not saying that this is somehow a 'good' Filipino movie. The Pirates of the Caribbean series was plotted and written more intelligently than this tripe.

The movie is almost 3 hours long. I norder for a DECENT dvd copy to be made they have to burn the movie in a "dual-layer" dvd disc and this would cost a hell of a lot more. Plus, so many people watched it when it was shown that maybe they didn't think it'll make much money if realeased on dvd.
