I never studied Rizal...

I grew up in California.

I know he's the "national hero" of the Philippines, but that's all I know. I've read some things about him which made me think that he wasn't really a hero but just a martyr with a huge ego. However, I do enjoy learning more about him and the Filipino culture.

Recently, my mum bought me Noli and El Fili from Amazon.com. They're both in English. I'm currently reading Noli, chapter 9. I'm extremely enjoying it.

Will someone please tell me if they've made a movie of Noli or El Fili. If so, where can I find it with English subs? :) Thanks.
