Wow, what a bad choice!!!!

Was it just me????/ But come on, did anyone else think Nathan made a bad choice about likeing Sophie....But maybe its just me...but Tonya was way hotter and seemed over all a better person than Soph. When I was watching this movie and he was out sith Soph, when Tonya was at home upset...all i could think was "IDIOT!!"

But it wouldn't have been as dramatic if he gotten with Tanya instead of Sophie, the girl that his father raped. Sophie's hot too. it's all a matter of preference.

It seemed pretty stupid to me. A beautiful woman deigns to take you in and obviously wants you - so you go for her roommate? Stupid. They do mention something about how he always goes for the women he can't have, but come on. It's obvious he was interested in Tonya too - I mean he was struck by her in the elevator and came home with her. Both actresses are attractive but I'd take Featherstone in a hot second, especially in these circumstances. To see her whining about how no one wants her was hard to take.

Ya Tanya was waaaaay hotter!

I'm confused about something. Did he bang Sophie the night he came back after his date with her and slept on the sofa?

If so, he had the chance to bang the blond character the morning after when Sophie wasn't home. He had the chance to bag both. Hmmmm..

No, he did not "bang" Sophie the night he slept on the sofa. And, please try to have more respect for women than this.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to stop you in your smug tracks. At no point did I demonstrate a lack of respect for women in my post. I asked a simple question, and voiced an opinion. The character could have had sex with both women if he played his cards right, and it is a statement I stick by.

Please, for the sake of my sanity and the sanity of other iconoclasts, withhold any hints of your prehistoric, stiflingly puritanical self-righteousness in future discussions.

You are completely wrong if you think you did not demonstrate a lack of respect for the women in this movie simply from your statement. I don't believe either of these women would have felt respected at all if he had done what you were suggesting. While you may have felt it was acceptable for the character to behave this way, I sincerely doubt most women in this situation would feel that was OK in any shape form or manner, and that has nothing to do with your personally being "iconoclastic". It is not prehistoric or puritanical to expect people to not behave this way. I was not coming back at you from a position based on morality but one of respect for others in carrying out your actions that some might find objectifying.

But, then this movie was about a rape that occurred in a situation in which some people might feel was not really a rape (a date rape situation in which she was inebriated and seemed to be into him at first but then changed her mind and wanted him to stop) so that concept in itself is a slap in the face to women.

And, I will stand by my position that most women would feel used in the situation you just suggested. Thereby, it does show a disrespect for women.
