Goonies II Movie

Hey check this out, found a scrip: http://www.erikandtami.com/opening.htm

reply

Is it the genuine thing, do you think?...

reply

Nah I doubt it, it's poorly written, theres no real structure to the story, and it's a bit too predictable I think.

A Goonies sequel would suck now anyway, they're all grown up and it just wouldn't be the same ya know?

reply

Goonies II was set in motion to be made about a year ago. It dealed with the goonies now all grown up with kids of there own. They would have been played by most of the original class. They end up getting into trouble and there kids who have their own group i can't remeber what they supposedly called themselves, have to save their parents. For some reason though, the studio pulled the plug on the film.

reply

There's no way that's for real. Probably the worst script I've ever read.

reply

Actually it's true they even had a small article in Entertainment Weekly about a year ago and that is a reputable source. I'm sorry to see it fell through though.

reply

I'm glad they pulled the plug, it would have ruined the movie

reply

Gotta agree with that. Plus that script was dull.

reply

Well the script is a huge pile of *beep* thank *beep* they pulled the plug

reply

i agreeeee goonies 2 would suck! just think what old mamma fratelli will look like now.......? uurrrggghhhhhhhh............

reply

Mamma Fratelli has passed on. :(

reply

Mama Fratelli AKA Anne Ramsey died in 1988 of cancer so I really cant see her in the new movie. Also John Matuszak AKA sloth died in 1989 of heart failure so he wont be in it. Keith walker AKA ivring walsh (the dad) died in 1996 of cancer. Chunks dad died in 1997 (Charles McDaniel). Pretty depressing post I know but intresting to know.

Actually, it could be made, I've heard they've got a director finally, so we could be seeing it in 2006-7

reply

I've heard that casting is happening right now.

Unless Spielberg is in on the sequel as he was on the original, I fear that it will be a weak attempt to capitalize on what was a great movie of the mid-80's, but we'll see.

reply

i liked the script i hope they make it

Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg own the option on the second movie. so once the script is finalized, they have first crack at it.

the reason it's taken so long, is not because no company would touch it, it's that all of the actors as well as directors, all signed a statement in 2000 saying no one would participate in a Goonies sequel until all parties approved one script.

thus making sure the film was as amazing as the first film. the film, essentially, would follow a new batch of children on a new dventure, with the original Goonies cast in the film as well.

there are some great interviews with Sean Astin floating about on the web about the deal they signed with Spielberg and the drafts of the first script that came in.

basically, it's still in the works, but like all good things, they take time.

Two mates of mine have had a bet about whether a Goonies sequel was made. One of them bet the other £4,000 that a Goonies II movie was shot years ago. He reckons that his sister has got a copy of Goonies II on video! I wasn't too sure at first because I thought that a cheap 'n nasty, low key, budget sequel might have been released. But I've looked everywhere and found nothing! I can't wait to see his copy of Goonies II on video. I'll be stunned if my mate can show me. I'm sure Spielberg would be interested too. What do people think?!

reply

your mates are just a little confused that's all. there has never been a goonies 2 movies made. however when nintendo wanted to capitalize on the sucess of the movie they made a goonies video game and for some reason it was called goonies 2. hope that clears things up.

reply

I hope so!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

how ironic: the people who should have lived forever, those of the Goonies cast, didn't live to see the millenium. :( the legend shall live on!

reply

Well i dont know i actually like the script i am still reading it like in the middle i think that the beginning where the pirates were trying to get the sword was too gory for the Goonies taste of movie and i personally liked the first Goonies me and my brothers have watched it a million times and still arent tired of it i am only 13 but still if this was a script it would be pretty awsome i am afraid to read the rest of the script because if this script is legit i dont want to spoil it for myself

Here in Brazil, I did not obtain to attend Goonies 2, I have some place in the InterNet, that I can low?

Hey MalibuKyd -

Where did this script come from? If you edit the link and delete "opening.htm" to see the root website, you're taken to a couple (obviously, Erik and Tami)'s website of their entire relationship - past, present, future, their children, photos, etc. Just curious who these people are and why this long lost script (whether authentic or not) is attached to their personal website?

Do you know?

Just a tad over a month until Zack's 1st Birthday!!! What an amazing child he has been. Next year we plan on going to Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Celebration. Just a few more years, and Z will actually start enjoying going there... maybe even as much as his dad!

I applied for Survivor 10 this month... and I just passed the 1/2 way point on my latest screenplay. Who knows what the future has in store.

It's obviously just some aspiring screenwriter.
Nothing official about it...and the way it was put up, it wasn't meant to be seen by everyone.

Never argue with an idiot...they drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I, for one, welcome the *idea* of a Goonies II...but would rather they -didn't- simply because it can never be what "The Goonies" was all about. It would be far too....modern? Not that I shun updating stories; it's always been a Hollywood thing to take a movie and mold it into a more *modern* setting. However the point is to improve the original--or at least achieve the previous amount of success--not destroy the genre by making it too "relavant."

Latley, when it comes to 80's update sequels and classic series revivals...they've been full of *FAIL*. The Goonies was my favorite movie growing up; it still is. It was all about fun and adventure that can only be had at that certain age. It was cute, silly, and fun. What would the sequel be about? Lord knows they'll throw something political in there...or something that just doesn't feel canon.

Plus, they'll over sexualize it; a big problem with "kids" movies today. We had innocent flirting in the original. Would it be the same?

Still, there such potential for a great movie if the correct screenplay writer & director would come along and give it some attention and love, instead of seeing it as a vehicle to make some very easy money. I was so suprised to see such a situation happen with the "Transformers" movie, not that I love Michael Bay, but...damn! That's giving some love back to the '80's!! Let's hope for such a situation. ^_^

Just an FYI, I just came back from Astoria and had a conversation with a very nice lady who owns a Gift Shop not far from Astoria call the Pirate's cove. She noticed I was wearing a Goonies shirt and asked where I got it then proceeded to tell me that Steven Speilberg and the cast of the original Goonies would be in Astoria to film the sequel sometime soon. I for one can't wait because I plan on being there and I plan on seeing the movie.
