This was my favorite game growing up

I can remember being 7 and 8 years old (I'm now 23)playing this game. I still have it on the old Nintendo system to this day and I just may get it back out. I never played the first "Goonies" game, but I remember seeing it in an arcade. It had the same character, Mikey and instead of using a yo-yo to kill enemies, he kicked them. Anyway, this was my FAVORITE game growing up. Others that rank up there are "Mike Tyson's Punch Out", Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3" and "The Legend Of Zelda 2 and 3".

Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?

I am also now 23 and this game does ROCK!!! God, I probably haven't played it since I was 10. My brother and I use to play for hours. I think he pawned it off 10 years ago. Too bad. I had forgotten all about it til now. Your lucky to have it. You could probably get a lot of money off of it on Ebay.
I like your taste in games. Do you remember a game named Rygar? I don't even know if that is the right name, but I wish I had it.
Anyway, thanks for the memory. :)

this was also one of my very favorite games growing up. i'm 22 now and i remember playing this game when i was 5 or 6 years old. it was just so much fun, and as a huge fan of the "The Goonies" it was great to have a game that did it justice. and on the original NES too!

and i remember Rygar, it was right up there on my list of favorite games ever. they actually just made a PS2 version of Rygar. you should check it out

I'm 29, and it does still rock!!!

Im 24...so I remember this game too. I remember being confused about why there was a Goonies 2 game but no movie. As for the best Nintendo games you forgot Contra. How did that code go? up,up,down, down, lef t,right, left,a,b,sel ect, start?

reply

22 here...this was the first game I was ever able to actually beat.

The only thing I could never find was the transreceiver, the walkie-talkie thing that could be used to communicate directly with some of the Goonies nearby.

I still love this game

reply

I played and beat goonies 2 like 6 months ago
I truly love this game...it brings back all the childhood memories.

I always couldnt find the glasses. They are in the winter land in a hidden room...silly jerks.

reply

I'm 30, and this was the first game I ever beat too, way back in 1987.

I have a mint, sealed copy of the game hanging on my wall, shrinkwrap and everthing. I also have a 22" x 28" poster of the box art--toy stores gave away posters of many Konami games, including Goonies 2.

Great game :)

reply

I remember (Vaguely) this game, too. I remember I was able to rescue Chunk in it (At least I think that's who it was).

reply

I beat this game and felt like Billy Badass! I always thought that this game was based on a movie script for a sequel that never got made.

reply

The transceiver was worthless. It gave extrememly vague clues like, This is Chunk. It's hot."

reply

Ouch! What do you do!

reply

i'm 14 teen and me and my friends love this game it's cool

reply

Now you are 25 years old lol

or are you 26 now? in case your birthday comes after February 5th 1980.

reply

I won't give you energy because you hit me!

Anyway, 32 here, played The Goonies and The Goonies II on the stand up Nintendo Vs. cabinets in the arcade. I then got The Goonies II a month before I was one of those few people who, despite the box art, bought the original Mega Man 1 game when it first came out! LOL

This was one of my most memorable games growing up, and certainly one of my favorites from the time period.

One of my friends told me that there was a secret door past the final door where the mermaid is hidden, but you needed a special key to open it. I never could find that key, but boy did I spend a ton of time looking for it, hitting various parts in rooms in case it was there or something lol.

I finally figured out that there was no secret behind there, but it was still fun exploring the game trying to find that stuff.

Seriously, on my top ten NES games. (If I had a list)

Me too. It was a great game. I loved it. I used to play this all the time a long with Mario Bros., Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, The Legend of Zelda, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, The Karate Kid and many more.

I'm Eskimo.

Yeah, seemed like you all liked writing all these lines, so what the hell. I had to join in. Anyway, this game does indeed rock! Doesn't exactly make a whole lot of sense, but that doesn't make it bad. It kicks ass. Glad to see more people that like it.

I don't know, I'm making this up as I go.

reply

Hey, you need a candle? Well I'm not going to give it to you until you bash me in the head a few times. What do you think of that mister?

Whoa, I wonder if Bioshock took a tip from this with the whole Andrew Ryan thing. For those who beat it, you know what I'm talking about. Would you kindly.

This just in: you're an idiot.
