Lefthanders

Is that so? I've only had 1 or 2 friends that are lefties, but I take ur word for it, & find that interesting,kind of cool. Also, I was just reading the 'facts' & things we might find 'interesting' on the movies imdb profile, it says that it's common for some left handed people to throw w/ their right hands even if they write left handed. Was wondering if you could verify? Nice to see recent comments, I've loved this movie for all its 15 years.

His son bats right handed though.

This isn't uncommon especially with sports training.

And, in the movie, little John throws right handed when playing catch with his dad (young Frank); not sure where the left handed throwing comment came from.

Also, in the movie young Frank is teaching little John to swing the bat; Frank is standing in a left handed batting stance with little John standing directly across from him mirroring his movements - thus he learns to bat right handed.

Phil Mickellson, pro golfer, does everything right handed except swing his golf clubs. His dad was a golfer who swung right handed. Phil would stand opposite him (almost a mirror image) mimicking his movements thus becoming a left handed golfer.

My oldest son is left handed with everything he does except swinging a bat and swinging golf clubs - these are done right handed. He can throw high heat with baseballs, tight and fast spirals with a football left handed, eats and writes left handed but I taught him to swing bats and clubs - but not standing across from him. I stood behind him and used my arms and hand to guide and teach the basic movements - he progressed from there.

I'm a lefty and always notice other lefties.
