the reviewers seem to be disappointed with "double k" because they see it as an "uncharacteristic" john woo film. this isn't surprising, since woo didn't direct this picture. he was only the ASSISTANT director. jimmy pascual was the film's auteur. (now i haven't seen "double k," but i just watched "awaken punch" which pascual produced. and pascual DOES seem to have some talent.)

I realize this is an old post but I just had to respond, because it's nice to see someone else who's seen awaken punch (or fist as it's listed on the dvd pack i have it on) as that's one of the most out there/craziest kung fu movies i've ever seen.

Kudos bro. Now i gotta go give a review of that movie.
