Band of Brothers Tour

We took a tour that followed the different areas Easy Company fought. One of the most impressive was the foxholes that still exist in the Ardenne Forest, a dense dark forest. Toured the church where the paratrooper landed on the steeple and was amazingly not shot by the Germans. Also saw Dragon Teeth (German built triangular concrete fixtures that served as tank barriers) in the fields as we passed by. Very moving to visit these and the numerous memorials throughout the lovely Belgium and French countryside honoring the Allied Forces. Probably the most beautiful place on earth is the view from the Eagles Nest, the home Himmler built for Hitler (which Hitler did not like apparently). Germany is a beautiful country and so hard to imagine all the atrocities of war that occurred there.
