Star Fox: The Animated Series

Playing hours upon hours of Star Fox 64 as a kid, I couldn't help but notice there are a lot of similarities between that game and this cartoon.

Both feature anthropomorphic animals in space battling against invading forces. Fox McCloud and Bucky O'Hare are very similar in their respective roles and personalities. Deadeye Duck and Falco are both wise-cracking, cynical feathered partners. The toads from Bucky and the apes from Star Fox are very similar. Pilot Jenny is a lot like Katt Monroe. And Andross and KOMPLEX are very similar in terms of voice, appearance, and personality.

I think it's probably just a coincidence, as a western comic book / cartoon show is an unlikely source material for a Japanese video game, but there are a lot of parallels.

Oh I agree with you on this, 100% likely coincidental but equally as good as each other I never paid much attention to Star Fox but it is a goos spiritual successor to Bucky O Hare.

Agreed OP. I actually pretended it was Star Fox because it was the closest thing to an animated series there was.
