Mesmerizing

I've seen and heard most of Rollins' recorded spoken word performances, and being a Rollins aficianado, I consider Talking From the Box to be one of the top five recorded performances of his spoken word career.

In particular, the last section, in which he tells the story of the murder of his best friend Joe Cole will keep you on the edge of your seat. Rollins is a master story-teller, building up suspense in just the right way so that you're hanging on his every word.

Talking From the Box is essential viewing for any Rollins fan, and for anybody who is curious about Rollins' spoken word material and would like to see a quintessential Henry Rollins "talking show".

I agree that the description of Joe Cole's killing is the highlight of this impressive set. It's amazing how what starts out as a humorous story of friendship turns into a harrowing account of loss. Henry's description is heartbreaking and unforgettable.
