What do you think about this idea instead of the CG creature(s)...?

Since the film has a nice, classic Retro Horror feel to it and the set design was done really well and authentic looking and there were numerous mechanical devices throughout the house, do you think that perhaps REALLY well thought out and executed stop-motion effects at the end, instead of the CG creature, would have been a LOT more effective in blending with the style of the rest of the film?

And also, if done CORRECTLY, don't you think that that type of effect would have come across a lot more believably, or at least more entertainingly and NOT had such a tendency to take us out of the film...?

In my lowly and wretched opinion, I think if they had gone in this direction (NOT to diss the awesome Mr. Mallone of course in any way) I feel that it would have come across as more engaging, almost more 'real' and been a LOT more effective...
