Like they could keep the money! *spoiler*

Would Eddie & Jennifer really get to keep those millions??

After a police investigation into all those deaths and/or disappearances??

I know its just a film, but still....?

Yeah it never made sense to me either but like you both said, lots of weird sh*t happens in movies XD

Then you look at the happenings in Return to House on Haunted Hill (if you haven't seen it, don't bother). There's no mention of Eddie and some guys are after Sarah because of a journal that will lead them to a statue worth $5 million. Why didn't they try to get her money too? Meh, all totally pointless even thinking about XD

and only ONE Of the checks is actually made out to them. The rest have different names on them.... so I think that matters.

reply

Thats not true, there was no names on the checks. The names Price wrote down were on a different piece of paper. If you take good notice.

Nic Cage here, Signing off..

reply

Actually, none of them have names on them, they all simply say "cash" where the names should be when Eddie is looking through them at the end of the movie...

Price states that if one of the guest dies their money get's added to the pot meaning whoever survives gets it.

You can't cash a check on someone's dead account if the will says otherwise.

It was not a check. It was a Bank Draft as said in the film, also known as cashier's check. They are as good as cash, the money was already paid to the bank in exchange from them and they are not withdrawn from anyone's account, the bank is responsible no matter what. The film's logic is sound in that regard.

Fixed.

Yeah, it's typical writers wanting to end a movie without having to think about reality. How many movies have you seen where someone is framed for murder, but by killing the actual bad guy, with no witnesses, they are cleared of all charges now that the real killer is dead. Or movies that go along that ling.
