Am I the only one who always felt it was truly haunting ?
I mean, it really always made me shiver how, at the beginning of the movie when Evelyn was watching the found footage, she was really watching herself being slaughtered without knowing it ?
I thought that sort of "time loop" was genius and it somewhat reminded me of The Shining ending.
Huh, hadn't really thought of that, yeah, she was watching that footage in the beginning, or at least some variation on what we saw at the end. Question is, if they're there, now in their ancestors' places, where are the original people?

Didn't know what you were talking about at first and re-watched the beginning and the end. It is interesting but also confusing because in the beginning she was watching some kind of documentary on what happened to the asylum. The end is odd because they had already died previously in the house. Maybe that's them sort of 'trapped in the house'? Not sure.
shareI think the footage with Evelyn in it is not the original footage but her fate in hell so to speak. The house is making her go through that but it didn't send her back in time.
