Do more Spanish people like this film than from other countries?

It would help me alot with my work if a few spanish people posted their views and if anyone else would also.

Thanks.

I don't think so. Here in Spain, young people generally don't like Pedro Almodovar, because he always repeats the same themes and focus on the same strange characters. What Almodovar depicts in his movies is not the reality of Spain and the problems of common people, but a melodramatic and unbelievable construction of his owm. This movie, Todo sobre mi madre, is some kind of exception as was seen by many people who didn't like Almodovar's movies and this time liked.

Anyway, the general feeling here is that Pedro Almodovar is a director much better considered abroad. Here in Spain there are some people who are fans, but for the rest his movies are some kind of freaky thing, with little exceptions.

I'm Spanish and I personally like Almodovar... he is a good story-teller.. but the stories he tells are not daylylife scenes in Spain. His movies are centred in strange people... in the exceptions of the spanish society...once you understand that and you dont try to see it as a reflection of what spain is you can enjoy his movies...And he is one of the most famous and respected directors in Spain.
