Great movie

Mischa Barton was stiffer than a corpse! I'd like to see her try to act her way out of a paper bag. Cameron Van Hoy puts in a much better performance. He's very believable as a wild, unchecked teen.

P.S. Great movie.

reply

That is True. Misha's acting was terrible. But, I have seen most of her films and I think she got better. Pups was her 2nd movie. And she was like 13 in Pups. So once she got older, she got better.
And Cameron was great in this. You would think he was really crazy. But he looked into the camra too much (he look about 4 times).

I like Burt Reynolds IN LIFE lol its the chest hair.

in all seriousness, it was a good movie, mayybe not a oscar winner but you know. I think its a nice little nod to dog day afternoon, it has a clever title and most of the acting is pretty good. I think its good, because its realistic on the part of the kids--that seems like the nonsense and chaos that would ensue if two 13 year olds robbed a bank. I think in its own respect, its a good movie--I've seen worst, MUCH, MUCH worst. I mean, the plot is easy to follow, and its interesting, that's more than you can say for a lot of movies out there.

I Love this movie because it's cool and it's something you don't see all the time, everyday, especially in a movie.

I just watched this, and i didn't like it. really bad acting. even on mischa's part. i love her, but i give her a big fat D for that role.

reply

i really liked it because Misha Barton was really good in it.
I've seen a lot of her movies and she is just a really good actress.

reply

i liked this movie, but how did rockey get that cut on her head?

i'm classy and you're not, so get off my boyfriend you skank!

reply

does anyone care that this flick is a low rent rip off of Dog Day Afternoon?

reply

Not so good acting, but good... its sad when stevie is killed, I dont like that scene, but the rest is fine

reply

I don't know why people expected statuettes for a movie with Burt Reynolds and two prepubescent teenagers. This wasn't a movie where acting skill was meant to win awards- it was an honest representation of inner city troubled youth.

The lines were corny and it looks like it was shot on a handicam, but I really think that because of those imperfections, that's what made this movie enjoyable. It's great to see a low budget movie with actors that don't try so hard. Mischa Barton and Cameron Van Hoy (Rocky and Stevie) were believable. The fact that their lines were so poorly evoked is the reason why the viewer feels like it could really happen.

Who sees thirteen year olds talk at a higher level than that, anyway?

I liked the movie. It wasn't great, but it was definitely good.

reply

I just found this and was surprised how much I liked it.

reply

I love the movie! And I don't know why :s

i adore this movie. mischas performance wasn't the best but she was young and although she seemed to be a weak actress at times, her character was very alive. i think the characterization and ideas for this movie were quite brilliant, and once you look past the obvious mess-ups and consider that this was a low-budget film, it makes it easier to accept it. i think ash did a good job and i'll always love this project.

reply

It was torture just to sit through this movie. The only good part was the end, when the irritating little sh*t got shot down.

And CrashCam is right, this is nothing more than a low rent rip off of Dog Day Afternoon.

reply

It was a poorly acted, terribly written, and torturuously shot load of junk. It attempted to pull on the audience's heartstrings while never actually explaining why the main character suddenly snapped. Basically it was shallow and unbelievable.

it was a great movie, got to say it shocked me in the good kind of way. i'm sure everybody knew "stevie" was going to get shot in the end. But aside of that it was great. The acting of the kids was great. They helded their guns like a toy one, they like realy did a "movie" robbery. Shows you how *beep* up america is. no offence, but i woul'd not be supprised if something like that happend in America. If it happend here in Belgium i would been shocked. but it will never happen. But back to the movie. it was great beacaus the side-actors did a great job. They kept moving while stievie was in a close-up and all it was just great. Bummer Stievie never got a kiss thou... I realy felt sorry for the kid.
its in my top 3 i can tell you that.

Judging from the reason post, I guess you saw it on MTV Submonday just now? :P (Live in the Netherlands myself).

Anyways, it was an entertaining movie, though with a few boring parts. I liked how Stevie was written, he really was a *beep* up little psycho that was the embodiment of every adult's fear when they look at a teenager.

reply

Lol I saw it on MTV submonday too, heheh. I am totally in love with this movie, it's just so funny and sincere and thrilling and sad. It's just good, it's not trying to be more than it is..it's honest and that's what i love about this movie. The acting was pretty good too, mischa Barton portrayed the clumsy 13 year pretty good. And stevie played the cute little *beep* pretty well. I loved Bender, he was all neurotic and stuff. Great. 5 stars.

reply

i love this movie because of the tragic end. i love movies like that, because its more rememberable than the same happy ending u always see in movies. it also makes it more realistic, cuz life doesn't always turn out good. but the movie also had amazing acting.

reply

it looks pretty good.

reply

I think it's pretty good, not great, but good. Could have been better, but really Mischa Barton actually did pretty good. Sometimes she was bad but most of the time she was believable and convincing. It's just the the Cameron kid outshined her (he did really good). It's not a bad movie, good performances, but not without it's flaws.
