The strangest casting for a PG movie ever.

For being a PG movie, this movie could have been rated R just for the cast of characters in the movie. You got Chris Ellliot, Iggy Pop, Pam Grier. John Schneider. Chevy Chase, Mark Webber. Then theres Rozonda "Chili" Thomas and Carly Pope. Seriously, what a mishmash group of actors. Dont get me wrong, I liked this movie. But its funny, with Iggy Pop? Chevy Chase, Pam Grier and Chris Elliot have made some raunchy stuff in the past, wouldnt you think the producers or whoever was casting the film would have gotten different actors for the parts. I could be wrong....Let me have it you humuniods.

Ehh...actors known for more raunchy stuff have done kids films all the time! Just look at Ice Age, which has Denis Leary (a man known for cursing), Seann William Scott (a.k.a. Stifler), John Leguizamo, Nicki Minaj, and Drake, among others, all people known for doing rather raunchy stuff.

Besides, it would be boring if everyone just did raunchy movies or family friendly movies all the time! It's nice to mix up things once in a while! (That and most of these people probably had kids/nephews/cousins/etc. that wanted to see them in a movie. I think Chris Elliott actually said in an interview he did this movie for his kids).

Ehh...ok, you are right. Ehhh. true. actors do mix it up with different kinds of movies.. I know Eddie Murphy stop doing his Rated R movies because of his kids..

Hmmm.

Yeah it was strange to have all of them in this but honestly it was a great cast for a kids movie. Sadly due to it being so full it ends up being a waste of a movie largely due to so many storylines going on at one time. It's 2 movies trying to merge as one and it fails miserably at both.

On one hand it's a 2000 era Nick movie with the kids, Elliott, Smart, and Webber at the end.. it coulda been a solid but wacky kids movie. In that way I can tell it's what the Pete and Pete movie woulda been like.. it had the same wackiness with Elliot and his antics and the kids are a lot like them. But out of nowhere comes the lame lower end MTV films arc of the love triangle with Webber, Emmanuelle, and Schyler which was just awful. Fisk was the better choice for Webber by far and the audience knows that but we get forced the lame romance crap. Iggy gets stuck in it as does Chevy when he isn't on his own in a third arc. Then they try to shoehorn Jean Smart into a 4th arc which never amounts to anything.. total fail.

Such a shame.. this coulda been so good. It never came close to it's hype that Nick made for it ahead of time minus the song by Hoku.
