Spaghetti Western Theme

One of the things that enrages me when people complain about this OVA is that they can't get it through their heads WHY Emeraldas is so unbeatable. They get mad that bullets just miss her and that she never loses her cool and she's always so melancholy in the face of certain death. HELLOOOOOOOOOOO - it's because she's an unbeatable badass!!! There's a reason why Daibaran is set up like the Old West. This piece, like so many other Matsumoto anime, owes heavily to the Spaghetti Western and it's concept of the vengeance-driven unbeatable badass. I don't see the same people complaining about Spike Spiegel falling into this same category.
Oh yeah, and there is a review up here that says this was a fully digital production. That is false. Sure there are some CG effects and some cost-cutting digital stuff thrown in, but seeing as you can buy actual painted cels from this movie, most of it was still done in the traditional fashion.
