Rapist, murderer, cocaine user....

Are we suppose to take side with Odin and somehow feel sorry for him because of what Hugo "turned him into"? Seriously?
He raped his girlfriend... and there, already, he's a monster. He was never a "good guy" if he had this sort of evil in him all the time, so I think it was rather a revelation than him TURNING INTO an evil person.

Agreed. I felt no sympathy for him.

Odin may have been a recreational drug user to begin with but heck all of the kids were (maybe the exception of Desi but who knows) but he never would have attacked Desi if it wasn't for Hugo. Remember Odin never thought Desi was two timing him until Hugo came into the picture. He planted the seeds of doubt, does that excuse Odin from his crimes of rape, drug abuse and murder? No it doesn't but it explains why he spiraled out of control, Hugo was the cause of it

I don't know, I didn't sympathize with him. The only normal character in this movie was his girlfriend, but he decided to kill her because "she was a ho" . Like that justifies asphyxiating her. He's such a jealous little *beep* Instead of trusting his gf, he gets himself kicked out the basketball team, does drugs, rapes her, eventually kills her... At the end of the movie he says it wasn't the black kid who went mad at shot people at a high school, it was Hugo who twisted his head. Well too bad, while Hugo is an absolute effer, doesn't mean he had to listen to him.
