Some Memories

Just going through some of my memories about or related to this game.

~ I remember if I get bored or something, I would get on my horse, ride around in the game, pretending I was a part of it, such as pretending to go and talk to people, do deliveries etc. It was fun (is that weird?). I have a very active imagination (even more when I was younger), so I can do a lot with it).

~ A changed my name to one of the characters in the game (Ruto) thinking that she would react differently if I had the same name as hers. Before I did it, she said my named sounded familiar, so the next time I created a game file, I created one with her name).

~ This was before I knew about walkthroughs or how to use a computer, I was 7 or 8 I think. When I got stuck, I called the number on the back of the game book, which directed me to someone, and I would ask how to get past that part. I forget how many times, I called, but they eventually put a block on my number, because they last time I called, it wouldn't go through. I got a phone bill for $200 (or $2000?) I can't remember which one. My folks were not happy at all. I was a 1-800 number, I thought it was free.

~ In grade 8, I had a teacher named Mrs. Ganon (I thought that was a strange coincidence but cool).

~ One of my best friend's name is Midna (no joke, her name is Midna Ryerson), she used to hate her name, because it was different (and she has Asperger's, so it's normal for someone to hate their name), until she she heard that her name was in Twilight Princess. Her first file name when she got Twilight Princess was Midna, and she never used that name before, she would always use another alias. I showed her the back cover to prove that her name made it to the game, now she loves her name. I would be even cooler is she was a die hard Zelda fan. So that is two people I met/know who's name was in the game.

I remember when I first played this game I used to only play some parts together with my cousin (the cartridge was actually his) and never got to play the game by myself. Once he borrowed the cartridge for me, I played in my home all by myself, but when I finished the Deku Tree dungeon and had to go the town square I was so deadly scared of the Stalchildren that sprouted out of the Hyrule field at night that I stopped playing at that part of the game and returned the cartridge to him without continuing the game. Man, what a crybaby I was !! Hahahaha !! I only got to finish the game entirely many years later in an emulator when I was already an adult.
