DISCOVERY!

I'm assuming anyone who has seen this movie owns the DVD that was released in the USA. If you haven't seen the US version, you probably won't know what I am talking about. Anyways, I just got back from the cinema checking out the new flick Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle (by the way, good movie if you want a good laugh) and I think the person who plays Harold (John Cho) is the voice dubbed over Jackie Chans "rival" in Gorgeous. His best friend growing up but his friendly enemy as well. While watching H&K, I started thinking to myself, "Heyyyy that voice sounds familiar!!!" I can't seem to find any confirmation on this so if anyone has proof of it... e-mail me. LATER

I've seen several John Cho movies (American Pie-series, Better Luck Tomorrow, Harold and Kumar) and ofcourse "Off Centre" and when I recently watched "Gorgeous" I immediately recognized the voice. No doubt in my mind: the dub was done by John Cho.

That's exactly why I was just looking up "Gorgeous" on IMDB in the first place. I'm watching it and thinking, "Oh that's GOTTA be John Cho!" since I've watched Harold & Kumar a ridiculous number of times. Unfortunately, I can't find any confirmation of this anywhere online. Heck, as soon as I saw your thread title "DISCOVERY!" I knew you had to have come to the same conclusion I have.

P.S. I hate it when Jackie doesn't do his own dubbing.

reply

Jackie's poor english leads to that his own dubbings are badly done most times.
Twin Dragons' dub was bad. Supercop's dub was bad. And so on. I wish he'd ask the distributor company to hire an A-class actor to dub his voice instead of dubbing himself...

I like it when Jackie Chan does his own dubs. I wish he did in this movie. I speak Chinese so I'm used to the broken English from my parents. Jackie Chan's broken English is his trademark for me.
