I love this movie to death. When it comes to the Kaiju genre, I usually place this alongside Gojira and GMK. Are there any other Kaiju films that can compare to this one?
shareWell Host is Korean and is great, but more of a normal larger sized monster.
Daimajin is nicely done.
You might want to see Gamera 2: Advent of Legion by the same director, Shusuke Kaneko.

This along with the just-released Godzilla film represent the pinnacle of the genre.
This and Gamera 2 are definitely the best japanese Monster films.

The other two installments of Shusuke Kaneko's Gamera Trilogy rank up there, though this film is truly the best. The only other non-Godzilla kaiju film that I would put in this category is Ishiro Honda's The War of the Gargantuas, which is an excellent kaiju film.
