any more as good as this ?

I didn't realise the Japanese men-in-monster-suits movies had moved on so much. I loved this film. Can anyone recommend other films in the genre that are worth picking up too ?

GMK. If you like this movie, you'll like GMK (Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack). It's on DVD from Sony. The story is not as great as Gamera 3, unfortunately, but the effects are as good, and that means a lot for this genre. Directed by Shusuke Kaneko, the same as Gamera 3. You'll see a couple cameos from the Gamera 3 cast also.

I'd recommend the original, un-americanized 1954 Gojira, Godzilla vs. Monster Zero from 1965, the un-americanized Godzilla 1984, 1989's Godzilla vs. Biollante and GMK as stated above.

A good place for getting original Japanese versions of Godzilla movies (which are the only good versions IMO)is Videodaikaiju.com

I'll just say I reccomend the entire Heisei series except Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla.

The Daimajin trilogy.

Daimajim Trilogy is a great, great kaiju series. Severly underrated.

As for Godzilla movies (I've been revisiting him like crazy lately)

-GMK. Awesome, just as good as Gamera 3
-Gojira
-Godzilla Vs. Destroyer
-Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla
-Godzilla Vs. Mothra
-Godzilla Vs. Biolante
-Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S.
-Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla
-Godzilla Final Wars

I would say his three Gameras are better than any other Gamera movies (Gamera Braves was just lame). GMK was a great effort, but had some very lame parts. I would say the only other great movie is "The Host". Damn good.

Not counting Godzilla movies, I'd recommend The War of the Gargantuas. It's not as great as Gamera 2 or 3 or some of the better Godzilla movies, but it is still an excellent film.
