Some ideas in this film are ripe for a remake.

If ever there was a film that was ripe for a remake then this is it. It totally fits the two main criteria in that -

1. It's *beep*

2. It has some interesting ideas.

The rogue clan of white ninja was a very intriguing idea to me as was the mysterious Sakura father figure with the amazing voice who's face we never see. There's something there to be worked on into a full film as well as the whole Sakura organisation element. The dance sequence in the film was sort of cool too and maybe could be used for something.

The rest of the film is total cack and can be dumped, including having a wise ass American as the white ninja. In saying that I DID like the blues harp playing tramp character and he could be retained but maybe split the main character in two and have the tramp as a liaison for the phantom and not as the hero and certainly not as a ninja.

The film drags too much as well and bar an "ok" sword match at the end the fight scenes really aren't up to much even by Hollywood standards let alone martial arts film ones.

Yes, there's potential to be had here for sure but as it is the film is pretty dull and only the short display of ninja weapons at the end makes it anywhere near watchable.
