[deleted]

I got a VHS copy at a pawn shop for buck.

reply

Yes, I saw it in 1980 or 1981 which I believe I am correct in saying is the last time it was shown on either of the main terrestrial channels in the UK, BBC1 or 1TV.

It wasn't bad, there are much worse films out there. It was just a bit flat, with nothing much happening. Lazenby gets killed in the end...

Sorry I can't remember more details. There is a clip of it on YouTube at the moment. Type in "George Lazenby".

reply

Next time you feel like giving away the ending, right 'SPOILERS' in the subject first, you prick.

reply

Next time you feel like calling me a prick, learn how to spell "write" (right) and then learn some manners, you stupid tnuc!

reply

Oh well, big deal I made a spelling mistake.

I have got manners. If I'm going to post something about a film that reveals key details I'll show some consideration for people who might not have seen it and WRITE 'spoilers' first.
That isn't just me, it's a well known practice on these boards. You didn't do that, you're the one that needs to be more mindful of other people.

You criticise me for insulting you, tell me to learn some manners then you insult me!!

That makes you a hypocritcial prick.

reply

You still can't spell! It's hypocritical, not hypocritcial!

reply

And the only thing you can do in response to the points I've made is to highlight typing errors...

reply

I wonder what George Lazenby would say...

reply

He would probably say:

'This was the first film where I had a creative influence, a film I really value... and some guy called pauljmurphy goes and spoils it for everyone by giving away the ending...'

reply

When you actually see it one day, you'll realise that it really isn't very difficult to guess that George is going to get it at the end...

By the way, well done - you've actually managed to post something without any spelling mistakes!

reply

My spelling is always immaculate. I put the mistakes in on purpose just to annoy you...

reply

I have the film in my collection, and i think the film is pretty good.

reply

Whereabouts are you based? I'd really appreciate it if you could make a copy to sell onto me. If you have PayPal we could sort it that way.

reply

paulj-murphy,

ASS. Why would you so casually insert a spoiler into your post, then criticize someone with a valid point for spelling one or two words incorrectly?

myspace.com/lysen

reply

Why? Because his exact answer was:

"Next time you feel like giving away the ending, right 'SPOILERS' in the subject first, you prick".

He called me a prick, when I hadn't been rude or abusive to anyone. So I e mailed him and called him a c unt.

That's why. And he misspelt "write" as "right". What a prick.

reply

it's incredible... to be here of course. almost an unseen movie and 3 people figting here but no one else on the world knows about that and the only spectator here is me. wright?

reply

NOT TRUE! I'm here too. And you didn't spell "right" right. I'm going to make a big deal about it and start a bitter rivary overt it... JK!

reply

all wright then!

reply

I've just revisited this thread whilst having a break from watching Universal Soldier. Yes, I managed to get hold of a copy.

I'm nearly an hour into it and Lazenby is trying it on with a schoolgirl...

The film has succeeded so far in being watchable without anything happening.

No spelling mistakes, I think.

I still maintain that paulj-murphy is a prick.

reply

wow its been almost a year after your massage. that was a good movie. van damme version is not giving me that same "feeling" also ending music was sooooo good.
i want to hear it but i dont think its possible.

reply

It's message not massage.

That was a particularly unfortunate typing error...

You want to hear the music but its not possible... You've lost me.

reply

you saw through me. I wonder what "venomcal2001 is doing" but c'mon it was so damn funny.

reply

I don't even have the faintest idea what you're talking about.

reply

Yay!!! Thread reunion! Can we start the UNIVERSAL SOLDIER CLUB!? See y'all in a few years.

reply

Good idea!

We could meet up every year at the M4 Junction 3 roundabout where the final scene was shot and punch each other in slow motion.

reply

Perhaps by the time that happens the film will actually have been shown on television again...

"The prick" (with a new email/username).

reply

the thread is still going on. i guess i'll write here till i reach 70 yrs old.

reply

And the very thread - which I created on my Timothey Dalton account.

I watched this movie - and yes it's artistic, to say the least! Would love to hear Lazenby talk about it.

reply

its 2014 now but there is not a sing of those guys.

reply

A sing? I'm guessing you mean 'sign'.

I'm still here if its any comfort and the film is now on YouTube although the quality isn't as good as the version I have:

paulj murphy hasnt posted since 2009...did that other fellow kill him for giving the spoiler???

reply

He's changed his name to paulmurphy42

Maybe he's trying to distance himself from his own past.

I don't blame him.

reply

you know i make typo mistakes just for a conversation right?

reply

Its on YouTube. I would give it 6 out of 10

reply

I said that earlier and provided the link.

reply
