With all due respect to Jim Rieken...

....I think we should take what John Stanley says about this movie as gospel truth. "This Is Not A Test" is the second-worst movie I have ever set eyes on; I made the mistake of ordering this piece of trash from Netflix about two months back, and I can assure you I won't be making THAT mistake again.

reply

i bought it for $1 at wal-mart included with like 3 other movies on one disc, wasn't a bad deal to me.

reply

You got ripped off big-time.

reply

paying 25 cents for a movie even if its not considered great by you is a pretty good deal to me, i thought this is not a test was pretty good...that is especially if you like apocalyptic/post apocalyptic movies. I'm a zombie movie fan, its just like a zombie movie, but there is no zombies, just nuclear threat. The social aspect comes into play.

FIRST mistake.

After watching this film I came to IMDB to check it out and I did a double-take at the subject of your message board, because I had just had the pleasure of watching this film while seated next to the not-to-be-disrespected Jim Riecken!!! Many of Jim's picks are a little off-beat LOL...I have to say that I agree with him on this one, and found it interesting (in a weird way)!!

reply

You have GOT to be kidding. Watching that movie is a soul-draining ordeal.

reply

LOLOL...not if you're sitting next to Jim Riecken LOL!!

reply

This movie would STILL be a dud.

reply

I liked it. I think it's low budget but nicely written and tightly directed. The acting is pretty decent all in all and there's lots of drama.

reply

It SUUUUUCKED!
Case closed.

reply

what was the worst movie you've ever seen? how many movies have you seen? please explain.

reply

I would roughly estimate somewhere in the neighborhood of 5500. As to the first, the worst movie I've ever seen is Michael Joseph Anderson's "Millennium", a 90-minute-long 'go *beep* yourself' to anybody who cares about good moviemaking in general or good sci-fi specifically,

reply

This movie was so bad and so much fun at the same time.
I don't know if MST3000 ever lampooned this one but they should of.
My wife and I pick up movies like this all the time and have annual "bad movie nights" and we have 3 more to go the disk (yes, bought at wal-mart on a 4 movie disk for a dollar)
I'm proud to say I have what's regarded as the second worse movie of all time "plan nine from outer space" tho I thought it was much better and funnier than this movie. We also have "killer shrews", "the crawling eye", "frogs" to name a few.
We have entirely too much fun entertaining ourselves watching these then looking up the actors to find out interesting facts about them.
The sheriff played in "deliverance" for instance.

reply

I have to agree with you, this movie is horible. I got this film in a box of 50 movies for $25 and I figured at 50 cents a movie it might be worth watching---boy was I wrong.
the acting was awful, the actors are all nobodys, it looks like it was lite with a flashlight, and who would think a trailer would offer any protection from a nuclear bomb??? that trailer would have been ashes along with the occupants a matter of seconds after that bomb hit the ground.

reply

The fallout certainly would have and eventually they would have all succumbed to radiation poisoning. And while we're at it, have you noticed how the fate of the girl who gets hauled off by those looters just before the bomb explodes is basically left up in the air?

reply

I watched it and I have seen worse. It was ok.

reply

It held my attention as opposed to most other cheapies. I quite liked it.

What did John Stanley say was the worst movie he'd ever seen?

Count ourself lucky, mate: at least when you were done watching it, the disc went back to NetFlix. I now find myself the "proud owner" of the DVD.

I hate to say this, but I don't remember.

My condolences.

Movie is public domain and can be viewed on archive.org.

Yes, I often reply five years late.

It the first sentence of "I think we"...blah blah blah. I'd like to see that read "I think I" as in yourself proper. When you use we you include people for whom you should not speak. Go ahead, give you opinion, but take ownership and claim your opinion as your own. Because we enjoyed the film.

reply

I don't think you have watched many bad films to be so down on this one. Maybe end of the world flicks are not your thing? It's a very good low budget film. I suggest you watch Red Zone Cuba, Beast Of Yucca Flats, and many films that were done on Mystery Science Theater 300 before you call this one of the worst films ever made.

reply

This was not the worst film I've ever seen. That honor goes to an obscure movie called She-Creature. That one was so bad, I couldn't even finish it.

That said, this was far from the best film I've seen, either. It was included in a package deal with 39 other films for $10 or something at amazon. Also in the pack was a 1934 film with Clyde Beatty, the animal trainer, called The Secret Jungle. TSJ was really pretty good.

What's the worst movie you've ever seen? I saw this picture at 3 a.m. or thereabouts on local TV (pre-cable) too many years ago to count. I thought it excellent. I saw it years later, and it was not as good as I remember, but it certainly wasn't a terrible film. It was weird, suspenseful, almost claustrophobic. In case you're interested, I've seen so many bad movies, offhand I can't think of the worse. However, the latest two dogs (and I spent $$$ to see them!!) are Godzilla (latest US version) and Jurassic World. I'd like to tell all involved with this piece of dog waste to take it Up Your Jurassic.
