6.6 - Way too Low
I suppose far too many people who saw this in hopes of some sort of authenticity or something more than it is intended to be have seen this and knocked it's rating down.
It really is a great movie. One of the most enjoyable that can be seen over and over. Very much in the vein of A Princess Bride. One can view it many times over and it actually gets better with age because the lines are so excellent.
Chaucer's introductions of Sir Ulrich are priceless.
Just love this film and, personally, think it should be much more highly rated. Great family fun as well as just among the most pleasant of movies.
So tragic that we can't see the likes of Heath Ledger any more. Every time I watch this now it comes with a twinge of sad melancholy. But, still a wonderful movie.
Hollywood really should make more like these, imo. Especially these days with so many studios going under because they made so many bad films. How can you run a studio into $3.5 BILLION in debt as MGM has done? Just idiotic.
