The costumes of the major players were idiotic: extremely modern. You always have a bit of a modern flavor with TV and movie historical costumes since the designers are appealing to modern aesthetics. However these were modern with barely even a nod to the historical originals.

The background costumes were better. As I understand it, re-enactors were hired for the background and crowd scenes and they brought their own outfits. R-enactors almost always have more accurate (not perfect by any means) than "professional" designers since their concern is accuracy to the source and not appealing to modern aesthetics.

It was a low-budget film.

The story was great though.

I personally hated a lot of Jocelyn's dresses, and the worst part was, some of it really was inspired by actual medieval women's fashions! Others had ridiculous, 90s pop designs and fantasy styles woven into them.
