Worst princess hair

I've just watched this movie again. Its a enjoyable experience but I just want to point out something.

What stand out most of the princess.....is her really bad hair. That's how I remembered her. It looks like as if she doesn't wash it or brush it. Dry and tangled. Hair fit for a dirty peasant girl.

When looking from afar it seem like she got a pile of dreadlocks.

What kind of character design is this? Is it suppose to be ironically funny cuz I don't get it.

Then at later point her hair looks strangely purple.

Btw, she is pretty. I have nothing against her face, except she looks way too tanned. The smith girl is much fairer. I think they should switch.
